Summer Leadership Conference
The SkillsUSA Leadership/Teambuilding Course is sponsored annually by the Ohio Army National Guard. Campers work in teams to complete a variety of skill tasks. Service Learning is an important part of the SkillsUSA program. All campers and advisor participate in a local project to enhance the local community.

Conference Activities

The Summer Leadership Camp Planning meeting will be held in June. The meeting will run from 10 am - 2 pm. Any advisor attending this meeting will receive complimentary registration for 1 Advisor to Summer Camp. Please RSVP to Tammy at 614-466-8782 or tamyra.plotts@education.ohio.gov

Conference Activities

Monday

Following the orientation and kick-off activities campers participate in the Creed Challenge Program. This is a series of ice-breaker and teambuilding activities. During the evening campers are engaged in a special entertainment activity.

Tuesday

Tuesday morning is SkillsUSA Chapter Training 101 time presented by State Officers and the State Advisors. This is an interactive session on the basics of student leadership and chapter management. In the afternoon students participate in Ohio Army National Guard Leadership Challenge. Following the Leadership Challenge, it is time to hit the pool and activity center at Hocking College.

Wednesday

Wednesday Students partcipate in a series of training sesions they can take back and replicate at their schools on Employability Skills.

Thursday

Thursday is the Competition Day where campers get to participate in a series of Leadership competitions including speech, job interview, quiz bowl and opening closing. Thursday evening following a special dinner, we close out the week with a special presentation.

Friday

Friday it is time to Award our Camp Statesman and Contest winners at the closing ceremony before Campers say their farewell.
